What does Catholicism in the Roman Catholic tradition stand for today? What soul-saving, divine “truths” does it claim to hold?
After all, this is a very important question, considering that the RCC (the Roman Catholic Church) has always claimed to hold “THE TRUTH”. To be “THE CHURCH”, with the Pope being “Christ On Earth” (more specifically, “in the place of Christ on Earth”)!
The RCC claims that man must look to IT for Truth. For our very salvation! Thus, those outside of it and definitely those who oppose it, faced the literal fiery flames of Hell, where they would burn for eternity! And according to the RCC, anyone who stated anything contrary to that, was working for Satan himself, who by the way, was also always stated to be a literal being!
But apparently, now, according to the new Pope (Francis), today’s answers to the above questions are; “Nothing” & “None”.
Catholic cardinals, bishops and theologians deliberated in Vatican City, discussing the future of the church and redefining long held Catholic doctrines and dogmas. In case you hadn’t guessed it, I’m talking about the “Third Vatican Council”. The last one, the “Second Vatican Council” was held in 1962.
Now of course, this makes you wonder; If what the Pope says when “Ex Cathedra” (in the chair of Peter) is infallible, as well as what comes out of these councils, as is supposedly Catholic dogma, how is it that a later council can reverse itself on a position and yet, both are “infallible dogma”?
A question Catholics vehemently avoid and refuse to deal with. Gee, I wonder why? Maybe it’s because the contradiction is so obvious, that a blind man can see it? :-)
As anyone with half a brain knows (except, apparently, the people in these councils), these two views cannot be consistent. Since God does not change with social policy, nor does He care what man decides about what’s right and what’s wrong, at least one of these “decrees” has to be wrong! Possibly both. Yet millions upon millions upon millions of faithful Catholics don’t even consider this and will defend the idea that the Catholic Church and the Pope are “the only path to God”.
Hmmm… But what if that “path” says that there is more than one path to God? What then?
I’ll tell you what! Millions upon millions upon millions of faithful Catholics will believe that the Catholic Church is the only path to God, since it is the one that has revealed this truth (that there is more than one path to God). Huh?
Anyway, that is one of the things that came out of this “council”. That’s right. This new pope seems to be more concerned with his popularity, than with common sense.
Think I’m kidding? Well, why don’t we see what Pope Francis himself had to say about it. And bear in mind, this “finishing of the work of the Second Vatican Council” (according to Pope Francis) has conservatives reactionaries bothered, while the progressive reactionaries love it. Now gee, there’s a surprise, huh? :-)
And btw, in case you’re wondering what a “reactionary” is, it’s just someone they pick to get a reaction from. For example, the next time a friend of yours tells you about something bad that happened to them, just look at them and say; “Dude! That sucks!”. There! You are now, a “reactionary”! :-)
And one last thing before we get to quoting Pope Francis: Bear in mind that in today’s society, the word “reason” in the battle between faith and non-believers, is used to mean those who accept naturalism over God’s word. You may not realize this, nor believe this, but it’s true! And all I can tell you to prove it, is to read, read, read! You will see it time and time again! Just like the word “enlightened”. According to “modern” society, for one to be “enlightened”, one must put naturalism, political correctness and atheistic views of science, along with the ideas that casual sex and putting oneself above the needs of ones children is okay, along with many other things. To sum it up, to be “enlightened”, is to be to “the left”; a liberal. And the farther left you lean, the more “enlightened” you are considered to be. By the left, of course. But since they’re the ones who get all of the air time, that’s the only opinion you hear. Even TV shows that are series are used to get the left’s agenda across. Watch the shows more carefully and listen as they slip in the lines that promote the agenda of the far left, like how casual sex is okay, women are hyper-intelligent while men are just dumb apes, dragging their knuckles along the ground, religion is for the weak minded, conservatives always have a hateful agenda and only liberals are the “enlightened ones”, etc., etc.. I promise you, if you start really listening, then you will begin to hear it! Stuff that you never paid attention to before, will have you saying to yourself; “Oh my Lord! I never paid attention to that before!”.
Well, now even the mighty RCC (Roman Catholic Church) has fallen prey to the left’s agenda! But don’t believe me, people! Read on and see for yourself!
And in case you think I’m going to far with my claim of what the Pope means, once again, keep reading. I haven’t even really started quoting him yet. You can and will see for yourself that this is not me attacking Catholicism. This is me telling you the truth, with proof to back it up from the Pope’s own mouth! You might want to make excuses for the first couple of quotes. But you won’t be able to for this many of his words, I promise you!
Anyway, back to the subject at hand…..
The Third Vatican Council concluded, with Pope Francis announcing that Catholicism is now a “modern and reasonable religion, which has undergone evolutionary changes. The time has come to abandon all intolerance. We must recognize that religious truth evolves and changes. Truth is not absolute or set in stone. Even atheists acknowledge the divine. Through acts of love and charity the atheist acknowledges God as well and redeems his own soul, becoming an active participant in the redemption of humanity.”.
Okay, so let’s see what we have so far and trust me when I say that the words “modern”, “reasonable” and “evolutionary” were not words chosen by accident!:
1) Pope Francis said that Catholicism is “NOW a MODERN and reasonable religion”.
To say that it “NOW” is, is to say that before it was NOT. Therefore, Pope Francis said that throughout its existence, Catholicism was neither a “modern”, nor a “reasonable” religion.
Well, I agree. Obviously not for the same reasons, but that’s another article for another time. :-) However, the point of this article is to show how this pope has decided to side with the atheists and all liberals, over God’s Truth.
And since we all know that in the world of “faith vs the lack thereof”, the word “reasonable” is always used to mean “Naturalism & Liberalism is King”, we have the Pope telling us that Catholicism will listen to atheists over God’s word. Think I’m kidding? Wait! I’m not done quoting him yet! :-)
2) Pope Francis also said; “Religious truth evolves and changes”.
Personally, I don’t understand how anyone who claims to be the leader of the Christian world could say this! How does “truth” evolve and change? By its very definition, the word “truth” means that it is “something that’s true”. How does someone claim to serve this Truth and then come out and say that it’s no longer true, which in the world of Christian faith, is to say that Christianity and all that it is based on, is no longer the truth?
Didn’t both David and Jesus say about God’s written word that His word “is truth”? Thus, for truth to “change”; to “evolve”, God’s word would literally have to change. It shouldn’t surprise you that someone wants to change God’s word, considering that more than one “translation” of the Bible has openly changed the wording in thousands of places, some even stating that their intent was to do so to make it more in line with the views of today’s society. Nelson, probably the biggest supposedly “Christian” publisher in the world, has welcomed these versions one after another, publishing them without even blinking and more than happy to rake in those bucks!
I.e., These people, along with the Pope, are saying that “society dictates God’s word”. They’re saying that “God must become what we deem tolerance to mean, or we have no use for God”!
3) Pope Francis went on to say that; “truth is not absolute”.
But Paul wrote that; “All scripture is given by inspiration of God and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.” (2 Tim 3:16-17)
In other words, Scripture not only IS correct, but Scripture CORRECTS. Thus, when the choice is between God’s word and man, the choice is clear!
Folks, the Pope’s words are exactly the same as saying that truth is “relative”. That’s the only alternative to “absolute”. And this simply means that you get to choose what’s “true”, according to your own world view. That truth is something fluid; something that can change with society’s demands.
Now where does God’s word say that can happen? Oh wait, that’s right, according to the Pope, we can’t appeal to God’s word, because God’s word is Truth and according to the Pope, truth is not absolute, but rather, consists of what man has to say at the moment. Thus, the Pope has wiped out in one fell swoop, the ability of the church to appeal to God’s word to know the truth!
Of course, what he (this pope) does not realize, is that by saying that truth is relative, he has also nullified his own authority, thereby making his own words nothing more than his ramblings, devoid of any authority over anyone at all. But that also is a story to be more closely examined on another day. :-)
But do you see what this pope is trying to do here? He is trying to say that whatever you believe, even atheism (see quote further down), is “truth”, because the atheist thinks so!
Think I’m kidding? Look at what else he said…..
4) Pope Francis went on say, regarding atheists; “Even atheists acknowledge the divine. Through acts of love and charity the atheist acknowledges God as well and redeems his own soul, becoming an active participant in the redemption of humanity.”.
So atheists, by good works, not only “acknowledge God” (the atheist would disagree with that), but they also “redeem their own soul”, which means that they are then “saved”.
But wait! It gets better yet! :-)
Not only does the atheist save their own soul by sending money to “Save the Children” (good cause, btw). But they save mankind as well! So guess what folks? You don’t have to do a thing! Just sit back and relax, ’cause the atheists have got your salvation back! :-)
Let’s see what else he said.
“Through humility, soul searching and prayerful contemplation we have gained a new understanding of certain dogmas. The church no longer believes in a literal Hell where people suffer. This doctrine is incompatible with the infinite love of God. God is not a judge but a friend and a lover of humanity. God seeks not to condemn but only to embrace. Like the fable of Adam and Eve, we see hell as a literary device. Hell is merely a metaphor for the isolated soul, which like all souls ultimately will be united in love with God”.
Wow! That’s certainly a mouthful! Where to begin!
I guess the first thing to look at, is that the Pope says that “the church no longer believes in a literal Hell”. Of course, if you’re Catholic, that means that you no longer get to either, because the Pope’s words here are infallible!
But what we really ought to look at, is how this line fits in with the rest of what he said! Note that the Pope went on to say that Adam and Eve are just a fable. And on top of this, he has now changed the church into one of “Universalism”.
In case you’re not aware, that is the belief that there is no Hell and everyone will go to Heaven, no matter what! Look at what he said once again;
“Hell is merely a metaphor for the isolated soul, which like all souls ultimately will be united in love with God”.
You see, according to the Pope, God does not judge anyone, no matter what. But what are we to do then, with Scriptures like the following;
“The times of ignorance God overlooked, but now he commands all people everywhere to repent; because he has fixed a day on which he will judge the world in righteousness.” – Acts 17:30-31a
So whom should we believe? This Pope, who says that the church no longer believes what it has believed? Or God, who gave us His word to mankind?
In a speech that shocked many, the Pope claimed; “All religions are true, because they are true in the hearts of all those who believe in them. What other kind of truth is there? In the past, the church has been harsh on those it deemed morally wrong or sinful. Today, we no longer judge. Like a loving father, we never condemn our children. Our church is big enough for heterosexuals and homosexuals, for the Pro-Life and the Pro-Choice! For conservatives and liberals, even communists are welcome and have joined us. We all love and worship the same God.”.
So no matter how you define God and no matter how your own religion says He acts, you worship the same God as everybody else. Huh???
Now imagine this to its full extent! No matter what someone’s religion is, since the Pope said that ALL religions are true (thus even Wicca is “true”), their religion is “true”. The Pope even went so far as to rule out ANY objection to this and state that everyone who disagrees is wrong, by exclaiming, “What other truth is there?”.
So the only truth that matters, is whatever you think is true, because it is the truth, because you think it is!
Yea, that makes perfect sense, right folks?! :-)
One statement in the Pope’s speech has sent traditionalists into a fit of confusion and hysteria!
Pope Francis said; “God is changing and evolving as we are; For God lives in us and in our hearts. When we spread love and kindness in the world, we touch our own divinity and recognize it. The Bible is a beautiful holy book, but like all great and ancient works, some passages are outdated. Some even call for intolerance or judgment. The time has come to see these verses as later interpolations, contrary to the message of love and truth, which otherwise radiates through scripture. In accordance with our new understanding, we will begin to ordain women as cardinals, bishops and priests. In the future, it is my hope that we will have a woman pope one day. Let no door be closed to women that is open to men!”
So God evolves. Of course, this must be in the same way that agrees with this Pope. And according to the Pope, what God thinks “evolves” to match up with whatever the society of the day thinks. He did say that “God is changing and evolving as we are, for God lives in us and in our hearts.” Therefore, what is in our hearts today, is what God thinks today.
The Pope says that parts of the Bible are outdated. This is proof of what I said; that the Catholic Church now says society dictates truth! Look at his words. He specifically said; “some passages are outdated”. Now how does one misunderstand a statement like that? And I wonder which parts those are? Maybe the ones that say that those who do not honor the Son, cannot make their way into Heaven? Maybe the ones that say that homosexual sex is a sin? Maybe the ones that say that God does have enemies? Or is it maybe all of those passages about spitting in Jesus’ face and Him being crucified, that are outdated, because after all, the Pope says everyone goes to Heaven?
It looks like according to the Pope, all verses regarding judgment should be stripped out of the Bible! After all, they go against his (the Pope’s) opinion and the Pope is “in the place of Christ on Earth” and therefore, “speaks for God”, right?
It appears that the Pope is saying that anything that disagrees with what he’s saying right now, was added to the Bible later and was not originally there. Gee, how convenient for the Pope, that he has a billion followers whose “faith” and “belief” lives and breathes upon his every word, right?
And of course, this means that what Paul said about women not leading the churches is also false, since the Pope says that it’s time to “ordain women as cardinals, bishops and priests” and that a woman should “be Pope one day”.
I guess since the door is already being opened for homosexuals to enter into the church, even as couples, why not ordain women, right?
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying that homosexuals should be banned from the church. What I’m saying is that homosexual couples committing homosexual sex acts should not be told that “God has evolved with us and homosexual sex acts are no longer a sin and that those passages in the Bible that say that they are, are outdated, or were added later and stand against truth and love”.
But my question is, since the Catholic faithful call priests “father”, what will they call women priests? Will they call them “mother”? Gee, I thought the RCC reserved that for Mary (Jesus’ mother)?
In addition to the Pope’s sweeping calls for tolerance and a new progressive understanding of Catholicism, he condemned racism, raising his voice and pounding the podium in front of him. Pope Francis spent over an hour castigating anti-immigrant politicians, parties and individuals. Wagging his finger sternly with righteous indignation, the Pope shouted; “Racism today is the ultimate evil in the world! When Italians, Spanish, or French turn back the boats of African migrants seeking a better life, are they not like the inn keeper who told Mary and Joseph that there was no room for them and the infant Christ? These migrants are children of God and we are commanded to love them!”
His voice loudly echoing through St. Peter’s basilica, the Pope stated “those who would dare to turn immigrants away, be they legal or undocumented, turn their backs on Christ himself! A racist is not a true Christian. A racist casts aside his humanity to become a beast, a demon! He is the embodiment and personification of evil, a Satan!”.
So of course, no one can judge anyone, because God accepts all as “truth”, even atheists. But of course, the Pope can judge about immigrants, though, can’t he. Does the word “hypocrite” ring a bell???
But I want to make sure I’ve got this straight. No matter how I define God, it’s the same God as the Pope worships. And this Pope says that Catholicism no longer judges anyone else. And that even “Atheism = Truth”. Yet, when it comes to whether or not a nation accepts illegal immigrants, well, then, if they don’t, then they are of course; “beasts, demons, the embodiment and personification of evil; a Satan and they have no humanity”.
Okay! Gotcha Frankie boy! No hypocrisy there, huh? :-)
But of course, with the people hearing what they wanted to hear, which is that their sin is not sin and that God changes to line up with their views, the result was of course a thunderous applause! And of course, hearing this, Pope Francis took this as his cue to continue on with berating the idea that every religious idea is true, by stating; “…because Muslims, Hindus and African Animists are also made in the very likeness and image of God, to hate them is to hate God! To reject them to is to reject God and the Gospel of Christ! Whether we worship at a church, a synagogue, a mosque or a mandir, it does not matter! Whether we call God, Jesus, Adonai, Allah or Krishna, we all worship the same God of love! This truth is self-evident to all who have love and humility in their hearts!”
Now of course I do not have a problem with a message against hate. What I have a problem with, is the Pope continuing on, to equate all of these religions as being the same. As all being the same path to Heaven, even those who reject Christ as Lord. You see, Pope Francis was talking about their whole packages; their religions, etc.. And regardless of what Pope Francis says, this is a false teaching (that all religions are equally true, because those people believe that they are), especially since Christ said; No one comes to the Father, but by Me.”
And in case you’re not familiar with “Animism”, it can be defined as follows;
“Animism encompasses the belief that there is no separation between the spiritual and physical (or material) world and souls or spirits exist, not only in humans, but also in some other animals, plants, rocks, geographic features such as mountains or rivers, or other entities of the natural environment, including thunder, wind, and shadows. Animism thus rejects Cartesian Dualism. Animism may further attribute souls to abstract concepts such as words, true names, or metaphors in mythology. Examples of Animism can be found in forms of Shinto, Serer, Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism, Paganism and Neopaganism. Some members of the non-tribal world also consider themselves animists (such as author Daniel Quinn, sculptor Lawson Oyekan and many NeoPagans).”
Yea, that sounds a lot like “No one comes to the Father, but by Me”, doesn’t it! :-)
In truth, it is completely contrary to what Christ taught! Yet in an announcement that shocked many people, Pope Francis warned that “those who seek to deny a home to the migrant, to the African and the Muslim, risk their membership in the church! We will consider excommunication for those whose souls willingly dwell in the darkness and evil of intolerance and racism. Satan himself is a metaphor or a personification, for the collective evils of mankind. Today, these evils manifest foremost as racism, intolerance, religious persecution and bigotries of all kinds.”
So in other words, if you don’t want to accept the idea that it doesn’t matter what your religion is, nor what type of worship you practice, or even who or what you pray to, then you risk excommunication from the RCC, which by the way, is supposed to be the biggest “Christian” church in the world! I don’t know about you, but that sounds a bit self-contradictory to me!
A couple of prominent Catholic cardinals have responded to Pope Francis’ declarations by leaving the church! Cardinal Arinze of Nigeria asked, “What do we stand for, if we declare that truth is relative? On the contrary, truth exists independently of our personal feelings! All of this talk of love and tolerance is hollow if we have no identity of our own, if we stand for nothing! I charge that Francis has become a heretic and that he is not a valid Pope! Indeed, Francis is no longer even a Catholic! The seat of Saint Peter is vacant! I am now a Sedevacantist. I should have become one long ago. The Vatican has embraced ecumenism in the past, but worse than that, it has now embraced moral relativism on abortion and homosexuality. At the same time it is embracing moral absolutism in favour of illegal immigration and cultural genocide against Europe.”
In his most controversial statement, Cardinal Arinze said; “Islam has overrun my own country, and now it threatens to overrun Europe! Some parts of Nigeria now live under Islamic Sharia law. Catholics there are no longer free to practice their faith publicly. Francis is a fool if he thinks that his liberal immigration policy will end well. He has betrayed western civilization. Vatican City will one day become a giant mosque if things continue in Europe along their present course. Those in the West who ignore this truth, do so at their own peril.”
While some people reacted negatively to what he went on to say, I kind of got a kick out of African Cardinal Arinzes’ next statement; “There is nothing wrong with Europeans who want to protect their borders. The problem is that there is not enough border control and the immigration policies are far too lenient in Europe. Is it racist to desire to preserve one’s own home? Why is it racist to want to preserve your own culture and a future for your people and your children? Have white people gone stupid today?”
While some see the Catholic Church’s decision, more specifically the Pope’s decision, as a move to “rejoin humanity and to reject intolerance and extremism” and think that this is nothing more than, “the church losing a few narrow-minded bigots”, with Pope Francis now “gaining the friendship of the world” and think that “Pope Francis deserves praise for taking a humane stance in defence of human rights and against bigotry”, the reality is, that Pope Francis has sold out the RCC to the world and its ways, which have never been in line with God’s will for our lives.
What was it the Bible teaches us? Quite the opposite, doesn’t it? I suggest you read the “Parable of the Sower” and John’s words in his Gospel, that Christ was “in the world and the world did not know Him”, etc., etc.. Throughout the Gospels and the letters found in the New Testament, we are taught that “the world” does not receive the things of God; that it is not interested in them; that it rejects them; that those who carry the Gospel to others are “in the world, but not of the world”. So how could it be, that no matter what the world says, or thinks, it is okay with God? This simply does not jibe. It does not make sense. It does not gel with reason at all!
I opened this article by titling it as Catholicism being the path to nowhere. So why did I say this? Well, it’s quite simple really. If Catholicism now means that whatever you are and whatever you believe, you have redeemed your soul and that of mankinds; that one not even need to believe in Christ to be saved, then as Pilate asked Christ; “What is truth?”. And where is the change within the person? Does not faith in Christ bring change within a person’s heart? But according to Pope Francis, it seems that I can go around bangin’ sluts and guzzlin’ down keggers and I’m good to go! After all, the atheist has my back anyway when it comes to salvation, right? Oh, unless of course I disagree with the Pope’s stance on illegal immigrants! Then I’m totally screwed! I haven’t got a shot! :-)
The Catholic Church should just come up with a new motto and advertize! They’ll get lots of converts! You just need something catchy, right? Just something like… Oh, I don’t know. Maybe something like;
“Join the Catholic Church today! You won’t have to believe, nor do a damn thing and you’ll go to Heaven! Our Atheist members will make sure of it!”
Or maybe it should be something simpler and easier to remember! Something more catchy, like;
“Become an Atheist and save the world! Join the Catholic Church today!”
